The Exchange Signal Playbook for Fund Managers
This is the practical guide for integrating exchange hiring signals into a crypto fund process.
Step 1: Weekly Signal Review (15 Minutes)
Every Friday, check the signal leaderboard. Note: (1) any exchange that crossed 85 this week, (2) any velocity surge (>20% MoW change), (3) any prediction that resolved. Record in your research log.
Step 2: Exchange-Native Token Positioning
When an exchange crosses 85 signal score: consider building a position in their exchange token (BNB, OKB, etc.) or ecosystem assets. The average lead time to announcement is 8–10 weeks. Manage position size based on prediction confidence.
Step 3: Sector Signals
When 2+ exchanges simultaneously hire for the same department (e.g., L2 engineering at OKX + Coinbase Base + Bybit), the sector is receiving broad exchange investment. Consider sector-wide positioning.
Step 4: Risk Management
83% accuracy means 17% of predictions fail. Never size positions based solely on a single signal. Use hiring data as one input in a broader thesis. Define your exit if the signal does not resolve within the horizon.
Step 5: Resolution Alert Action
Pro subscribers get immediate resolution alerts. Define your action trigger in advance: "If OKX L2 announcement confirmed, I will [X]." Pre-planning prevents emotional decision-making.
