Day 2 of the free exchange hiring signals course — understanding the Signal Score, what each range means, and how to use it.

Day 2: Reading the Signal Score

Day 2 of the Signalmap free course on exchange hiring signals.

The Signal Score: 0–100

Every exchange in Signalmap has a Signal Score from 0 to 100. Here is what each range means:

85–100 (High-Conviction Build): Active product or regulatory build in progress. Announcement likely within 8–12 weeks. This is where OKX sits at 95 right now.

65–84 (Building): Active development underway. Announcement possible but timing uncertain. Coinbase (78) and Bybit (68) are in this range.

40–64 (Moderate): Normal operational hiring. No specific signal present. Bitpanda (54) and Bitvavo (48) are here.

0–39 (Minimal): Below-normal hiring. Either strategic hold, consolidation, or potential M&A target. Gemini at 22 and BitMEX at 28 are in this range.

What Changes the Score

Three factors: (1) volume change (+/- roles), (2) composition shift (more or fewer product/compliance roles), (3) velocity direction (accelerating or decelerating). The score updates daily.
